His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received President Isaias Afwerki in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed President Afwerki and discussed with him bilateral ties between the UAE and Eritrea and ways to enhance them. He also reviewed with him means to increase cooperation in economic, commercial and developmental fields.
Sheikh Mohammed said the UAE, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, seeks to build relations with nations of the world on the basis of cooperation, friendship and mutual interests. He praised UAE’s progressive relations with Eritrea.
President Afwerki said he was pleased to visit the UAE. He lauded the progress made by the UAE in all fields and expressed his country’s willingness to expand joint cooperation with the UAE.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and international developments. They also discussed topics of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council for National Security, Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court.
Members of the delegation accompanying the President of Eritrea, Humaid Saeed Al Neyadi, Deputy Director of the Presidential Affairs Minister’s Office and a number of senior officials.

President Isaias Afwerki met and held talks with Sheik Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The talks centered on enhancing the warm bilateral ties that exist between the two countries.
In the meeting that took place on 11 October in Abu Dhabi, Sheik Mohamed bin Zayed expressed satisfaction at the robust ties of friendship and cooperation cultivated between the two countries for decades. Sheikh Mohamed further asserted his country’s readiness to foster close ties with nations on the basis of cooperation, friendship and mutual interest.
President Isaias on his part praised the progress made by the UAE in all sectors and expressed Eritrea’s willingness to expand joint cooperation with the UAE.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments as well as on other issues of mutual interest.
President Isaias Afwerki visited today various factories in Abu Dhabi as well as Al-Ain city.
President Isaias left for the UAE on Sunday, October 9, for a working visit to the country.
