Swedish born AIK forward Eritrean Alexander Isak celebrated his 17th birthday on Wednesday night by scoring two goals in a 3 – 0 derby win over Swedish rivals Djurgården.
The more than 8000 AIK fans praised their young prodigy after the full time whistle, roaring in unison traditional Swedish happy birthday song.
This very special birthday tribute from the fans dates from the 18th century and is called ” ja ma han leva” which translates as –
“Yes, may he live. Yes, may he live. Yes, may he live for a hundred years. Of course he will live. Of course he will live. Of course he will live for a hundred years.
“And when he lived, and when he lived for a hundred years, well then he should be pushed, well then he should be pushed on a wheelbarrow forth.”
Having broken into the first team this season, Alexander Isak has quickly become a key player and scored the opening two goals in Wednesday’s 3-0 win.
How nice. Congratulations wedi Eritrea and Happy birthday.
