Operation Fenkil was veritable epitome of unparalleled determination, military prowess, ingenuity and heroism of Eritrea’s popular struggle.
“Operation Fenkil (Liberation of Massawa) was the determinant event and precursor of the full liberation of Eritrea through a very arduous, three-decades long, protracted popular armed struggle that exacted heavy sacrifices. Highest tribute to Eritrea’s best sons and daughters!” – Yemane G/Meskel
UNPRECEDENTED. The Nobel Prize Committee awarded the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize to PM Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia for his effort in bringing peace with Eritrea. The committee, however, deliberately left out President Isaias Afwerki, PM Abiy’s partner in peace, although it noted his role in the peace. This is political discrimination.
