ERITREA and Cuba signed on Thursday (23) a cooperation agreement in Havana on the sidelines of the International Convention on Public Health.
Ms. Amina Nurhusien, Minister of Health of Eritrea, and Roberto Morales, member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and Minister of Public Health (Minsap) signed the agreement.
Ms. Amina Nurhussein stressed the importance of such agreements and expressed her appreciation for the invitation to participate in the International Convention and in the Health for All Scientific-Trade Fair.
The Minister Amina further explained Eritrea’s achievement in the health domain and the experience acquired thereof.
More than 2,000 delegates from all parts of the world and health ministers from various countries including experts in the field took part in the International Convention.
Cuba’s Health Ministry also signs similar agreement with the delegations of Congo and Cape Verde.

Eritrea and Cuba Agree to Enhance Cooperation in Health Sector

(Asmara, 26 April 2015) – THE Governments of Eritrea and Cuba agreed to enhance and strengthen cooperation in the health sector.
At the meeting the Health Ministers of the two countries conducted on 23 April in Havana reviewed the existing cooperation in the sector, and agreed to further strengthen it.
Moreover, Ms. Amina Nurhusein, Eritrean Minister of Health, and Dr. Roberto Morales signed on the document of the cooperation agreement.
It is to be recalled that the Eritrean delegation led by Ms. Amina Nurhusein took part in the International Public Heath Conference held from 20 to 24 April in Havana.
At the conference, the Eritrean Minister of Health gave briefing with regards Eritrea is registering in the health sector.
