The 19 year old Eritrean cyclist from UCI have started to make waves in Europe after making successive wins in France and Italy.
On Sunday, July 7, Merhawi Kudus wins the fourth and final stage of the Tour de Côte d’Or that took place between Dijon and Saint-Jean-de-Losne in France to become the overall leader.
Triumphed by his first ever European title win, Merhawi demonstrated his unrelenting talent on Sunday, July 21, by sprinting to victory in the dramatic final lap of the 155.8 km tournament in Italy.
He clocked 3 hours, 40 minutes and 20 seconds at an average speed of 41 km an hour.
The win brought this emerging young talent a title of the first ever black cyclist to win the Amateur Classic Cycling Competitions in Italy.
