Jubek State of South Sudan signed in Cairo, MoU and cooperation protocol with Egypt to establish large “industrial investment park”

The Minister of State for Military Production, Mohammed El-Assar, witnessed the signing of a protocol of cooperation between Egypt and South Sudan to establish the largest industrial zone in the Jubek State on an area of 116 square kilometers to meet the needs of the African continent.

Salah Ragab Bondogi, Minister of Information, Culture and tourism of South Sudan, said the signing of the Protocol was a good start to work and coordinate with Egypt to boost economic ties between the two countries.

He stressed that the government of South Sudan is working to provide all services and all aspects of cooperation to overcome all obstacles to any Egyptian investments in its territory.



The protocol was signed by Vice Governor of Jobek state from the South Sudanese side and Engineer Mohammed Atta, Chairman of Atta Investment Company from the Egyptian side, in the presence of Hatem Bachat, former undersecretary of the Egyptian intelligence service, Mina Abu Hashima, Chairman of Qena Cement Factory, representatives of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), as well as a UAE government consultant.

For his part, Mohammed Atta said the aim of signing the protocol of cooperation with the Government of Southern Sudan is to increase trade exchange and Egyptian exports, in addition to strengthening bilateral relations.

Atta Group is one of the largest Egyptian companies in investment, industry, logistics, agricultural development, animal production, and general contracting.
