EGYPT’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to pay a one day visit to Eritrea.
According to a foreign ministry statement, FM Sameh Shoukry is expected to arrive in Asmara on Wednesday (06), following a similar visit to South Sudan.
The minister will discuss issues of terrorism, the situation in South Sudan and the Horn of Africa region with his Eritrean counterpart Osman Saleh.
Discussions about development and stability are also on the agenda.
Previously, the two Ministers met on March 15 at the sidelines of Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) in Sharm el Sheikh.
After successive IGAD led peace talks failed to bring lasting peace to the country, South Sudan recently turns its face to regional countries such as Egypt and Eritrea for help.
A delegation led by South Sudan’s Chief negotiator, Nhial Deng Nhial, last week met with President Isaias Afwerki and delivered a special message from President Salva Kiir.
Cairo was the second country following Sudan to recognize South Sudan on its independence in 2011.
