Eleven New Ambassadors Accredited to Eritrea

President of Eritrea, Isaias Afwerki, received credentials of 11 Ambassadors accredited to Eritrea.

At a special ceremony held at the State House in Asmara, Ambassadors from the UK, China, Republic of South Sudan, Germany, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Australia and the UN submitted their respective credentials. 

The Ambassadors of the respective countries and the UN asserted that they would strive to reinforce relations of partnership with Eritrea based on mutual benefit in general, and in the domains of education, trade, investment and health in particular.

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Niu Qiang, told Eritrean News Agency that he would exert the necessary effort to further enhance Eritrean-Chinese cooperation in the infrastructure and mining sectors.

Stating that peace and stability in Eritrea is of vital importance to that of the Horn region, Ms. Christine Imutoni, the UN Ambassador, expressed the world body’s readiness to work together with Eritrea to this end.

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Mr. Senadheer Sudantha, voiced his country’s readiness to cooperate with Eritrea in the domains of health, education and investment, and that he received President Isaias’ positive response in this regard. The Ambassador further pointed out that he would do his level best to enhance such cooperation of partnership.
