In response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Government of the State of Eritrea made a donation of 50,000 US dollars (approximately 4 million yen) as relief money for Japan.
Letters and messages of sympathy were also sent from H.E. Mr. Isaias Afwerki, President of the State of Eritrea and H.E. Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Eritrea and others.
The Government of Japan deeply appreciates assistance extended by the Government of Eritrea and its people.
Editor’s Note: As Japan’s economy was greatly hit by the world financial crises, another crisis comes from Mother Nature and that will cost the ailing economy more than $300 Billion. So any help from any individual or country will be very well appreciated by the government and people of Japan. That is what this small and poor but proud country of Eritrea is doing to the great and friendly people of Japan.
