FLY OLYMPIC’s maiden voyage to Asmara International Airport (ASM) touched down today (21) marking the commencement of a new destination.
The inaugural flight with Boeing 767 – 300 ER operated by SkyGreece Airlines accommodates 160 passengers for a nine hours flight to Asmara from Stockholm including a one hour stopover in Athens.
Fly Olympic enter into a code-share agreement with the national carrier last week to streamline its service for Eritrean customers.
In the meantime, flights will be maintained twice weekly from Asmara – Athens – London every Saturday and Asmara – Athens – Stockholm every Sunday.
Coordinators of the arrangement Mr. Ghirmay Fissehatsion and Mr. Yoel Russom indicated that flight frequency would increase according to market demands.
The new service would relieve beneficiaries of the inconveniences they have been encountering previously with other carriers.
With this new route, Fly Olympic becomes the only carrier that offers direct flights between Eritrea and Europe.
