Foreign Minister Osman Saleh embarked a two-days official visit to Egypt. He arrived Cairo International Airport on Sunday morning.
In the morning hours on Monday, Foreign Minister Osman is expected to hand-deliver a letter to President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi from his Eritrean counterpart President Afwerki.
Minister Osman Saleh will also meet with a number of top Egyptian officials, including Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, to discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Eritrea regards Egypt as one of the most important pillars of stability in Africa, especially in light of the challenges and conflicts which face the continent.
Eritrea and Egypt enjoys a distinguished bilateral relations and there exists a keenness from both sides on continuing consultations and coordination on various regional and international issues.
