Senior Eritrean government delegation led by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh is on an official working visit to Germany to kick start talks on bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
Presidential Advisor Yemane Gebreab and National Development Minister Dr. Gergish Teklemichael are accompanying the Foreign Minister.
The high-level consultation that already started in Berlin was the result of talks that were held on December 14, 2015 in Asmara when a high-level German delegation led by Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dr Gerd Müller visited the country in 20 years.
At the time, Minister Müller discussed possibilities of restarting cooperation between the two countries with President Isaias Afwerki.
Eritrea had expressed its readiness since to discuss with Germany its perspectives on political developments including issues of political democratic order and human rights.
The ongoing German-Eritrean dialogue in Berlin will have an agenda item on economic forum, a panel discussion and a serious of meetings with German parliamentarians.
German Ambassador to Asmara, Dr. Andreas Zimmer said the German – Eritrean dialogue on possible projects of development cooperation will be continued and intensified in the forthcoming months.
