The Mayor of the city of Las VegasCarolyn G. Goodman, today proclaimed that her city will officially recognize May 24, 2013, as a day of celebration by all citizens in honor of Eritrean independence day.

Recognizing the significance of May 24 to her Eritrean constituents, the Mayor asked citizens of all background in Las Vegas to join her in the festivities honoring the tens of thousands of mothers and children that are killed in the war for independence.
