ERITREAN rider Mekseb Debesai (Bike Aid) was named most beautiful rider of the Bayern Rundfahrt in Germany- the only cycling tour with such an award.
Votes were casted via total “likes” on pictures of riders on the Bayern Rundfahrt Facebook page.
Mekseb was the candidate with the most likes on his photo and joins the ranks of past winners like John Degenkolb, Fabian Cancellara, Silvio Herklotz and Jan Oelerich.
Prior to the contest, Bike Aid called for votes, “Who is the most beautiful rider of the peloton? Vote for our Mekseb!!!” and promoted Mekseb’s winning photo on Bayern Rundfahrt Mekseb.
“We are not always the fastes, especially not with that unbelievable strong competitors arround John Degenkolb, winner of Paris-Roubaix, BUT: Mekseb has been elected as the most beautiful rider of the tour”, Bike Aid said.
The Bayern Rundfahrt takes place over five days beginning with three hilly stages, followed by a time trial and ending with a sprint stage into Nuernberg, Germany.
Sunday’s fifth and final stage is a rolling 197.8km route from Hassfurt to Nurnberg.
