Business owners in Asmara awarded 500 thousand Nafa (US $25,000) each to the Tour de France 2015 participants Daniel Teklehaimanot and Merhawi Kudus.
The national cyclist heroes received their award from Mr. Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Culture and Sports, at a ceremony conducted at the Commission’s office.
Ambassador Zemede commended the business owners for their initiative to encourage sports activities in the country
Daniel Teklehaimanot and Merhawi Kudus for their part expressed their gratitude for the awards they were given and stated this will boost their motivation to achieve higher results.
