AFTER two years with Europcar for his professional debut, the Eritrean rider Natnael Berhane reportedly joins African Pro-Continental cycling team MTN-Qhubeka for the 2015 cycling season.

Berhane, 23, is an exceptional bike rider who has won races in multiple events, including the African Championship and La Tropicale Amissa Bongo. The victory that really stands out on Berhane is his Championship of the 2013 Presidential Tour of Turkey.

If his transfer ends successful, Natnael Berhane will find two of his compatriots, Merhawi Kudus and Daniel Teklehaimanot who have already achieved a considerable success in a grand tour and stage races.

Team MTN-Qhubeka was founded in 2007, steadily working its way up from a regional team to now being a Continental Pro team with bases in South Africa and Italy.

MTN-Qhubeka’s goal is to give talented African riders a path into the pro peloton while raising funds for the Qhubeka charity.
