ERITREAN President Isaias Afwerki pays a two day state visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. Upon arrival at Riyadh King Khalid International Airport on Tuesday (28), the President was warmly welcomed by the King himself.
According to State-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA), President Isaias and King Salman discussed extensively on issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways of enhancing and promoting them. They also discussed latest international and regional developments.
The King later held a state banquet in honor of President Isaias.
President Isaias also met with Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom HRH Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The two sides also discussed means of boosting Saudi – Eritrean cooperation besides on issues of mutual concern in the region.
Before winding up his trip, President Afwerki met with Saudi Arabian Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq bin Fozan Al-Rabiah and Minister of Labor Engineer Adel bin Mohammed Faqih to discus issues of common interest for Eritrea and Saudi Arabia.
After concluding his successful trip to the Kingdom, President Isaias was seen accorded with warm send-off by Deputy Crown Prince.
