PRESIDENT Vladimir Putin greeted the new Eritrean ambassador to Russia, Petros Tseggai Asghedom, during a ceremony held today at the Grand Kremlin Palace.

President Putin also accepted the credentials of another 14 new ambassadors.

“I would like to sincerely wish you every success and express a hope that your work here will facilitate the development of bilateral relations and mutual cooperation in various areas between Russia and the countries you represent,” Putin said.

Earlier this year, Eritrea and Russia signed several agreements on trade and diplomacy.

A subsidiary of Gazprom Bank (GPB), Ketina Mining, becomes the first Russian mining company to enter a joint venture with the Eritrean State mining company ENAMCO after securing a 1000 km2 exploration license in Molki , Gash Barka zone.

The president finally stated that “Russia highly appreciates the friendly ties with every [one] of the states that you represent.. We are committed to making your work in Moscow as efficient and productive as possible”.

The new ambassadors can always count on the help and support of Russian leaders and agencies, he stressed.
