Today, Qatar Airways starts its maiden Doha-Asmara regular scheduled flights and the plane is expected to touch down Asmara International Airport tarmac at 2130.
The twice-weekly flights will be served by an Airbus A320 featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy.
The start of regular Doha-Asmara route by Qatar airways will definitely enhance connectivity and competitive quality service.
With the commencement a trice-weekly Istanbul Ataturk – Taif – Asmara scheduled flights since 19th August using next-generation Boeing 737 – 800 aircraft by Turkish Airlines, and the already existing flight services provided by Egypt Air and Eritrean Airlines, the addition of Qatar Airways will definitely make travelling experience to and from Eritrea a breeze.
The flight schedule data loaded in the airline’s GDS system and website confirms flights to Asmara, Doha, Mumbai, Milan, United States, Stockholom, Frunkfurt, Paris, Geneva, London, Rome and Istanbul are already open for connectivity.

Qatar Airways Begins Regular Flight to Eritrea
Qatar Airways today began regular flight to Eritrea. Heads and management staff of the Eritrean Civil Aviation Authority and the Ambassador of Qatar to Eritrea, as well as managers of the Airways were present at the inaugural flight of the Airways.
According to reports, details of the Qatari Airways flight to and fro Eritrea from Doha city to destinations around the world would be released during the official ceremony tonight here in the capital marking the beginning of the Airways regular flight to Eritrea.
The 5-Star Qatar Airways flight covers 140 routes around the globe.
Official Inauguration of Qatar Airways Flight to Eritrea Conducted at Asmara Palace Hotel
The official inauguration of Qatar Airways flight to and fro Eritrea was conducted yesterday at Asmara Palace Hotel in which the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Tesfaselasie Berhane, and other Ministers, senior government and PFDJ officials, heads of national Associations and the Qatari Ambassador to Eritrea, Mr. Hamad Mohammed Bin-Rashid Humeidi, as well as invited guests took part.
In remarks he made on the occasion, Mr. Paulos Kahsai, Director General of the Eritrean Civil Aviation Authority, noted the significance of the flight service, and expressed collaboration with the Airways in all its activities.
Likewise, Mr. Marwan Koleilat, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, stated that the prevailing collaboration and longstanding relations between Eritrea and Qatar, and expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Eritrean government and the Civil Aviation Authority in launching of the flight.
Reports indicated that the 5-Star Qatar Airways would provide flight and freight service to and fro the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA via Doha city. In addition, the Airways would provide postal service to Eritrea in the near future.
The flight service to Eritrea would take place twice a week on Friday and Sunday.
