Eritrean-Canadian Ski racer Shannon Abeda, 17, will do what it takes to represent his country Eritrea at the 2018 Winter Games in South Korea, his father Walday Abeda informed TesfaNews.
In a qualification race that was conducted in Canada for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, young talent Shannon Abeda has just finished 8th in the overall classifications and 3rd from his age group only to miss the Sochi game by 3.5 FIS points.
Shannon Abeda previously represents his native country Eritrea for the first time at the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria two years ago wearing the first Eritrean Ski race suit that he design.
Shannon got unconditional support from his father as well as professional guidance from his older sister Faben Abeda who is also a Ski racer and coach.
“Our focus is now to have Eritrea ready for 2018 Winter Games in South Korea,” said Walday Abeda with absolute certainty.
On behalf of our readers, we wish him success.
