The head of Political Affairs in Eritrea’s ruling party – PFDJ, Mr. Yemane Ghebreab, in his latest interview with the Voice of America (VOA) Tigrinya service disclosed that Sudan didn’t participated in the infamous July 4th IGAD summit in Addis Ababa, and in fact it later strongly rejected the final communiqué that calls for another round of sanction on Eritrea’s economic and mining sectors.

IGAD member countries include Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Djibouti and Somalia.

Mr. Yemane also stated that it is Eritrea’s believe that due to the excellent and historical relationship that existed between Eritrea and the Republic of South Sudan (RoSS), the later won’t support any hostile stance against Eritrea in the name of IGAD once it retains its official seat in the immediate future.

This revelation has cleared a lot of confusion and mistrust created up on Sudan and its official stand on the call for sanction from IGAD.
