Egyptian Embassy in Asmara received an Egyptian delegation from Agriculture Ministry led by farms project executive director Maher Abdel Moneim.

In a press release on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry said the delegation met with Eritrean Agriculture Ministry’s general director and heads of poultry and researches’ departments to discuss means of fostering bilateral relations in agriculture field. IFAD Supports US$26.38m Eritrea National Agriculture Project

IFAD supports project that aims improve livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Eritrea

The UN agency, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), has agreed to finance the US$26.38 million ‘National Agricultural Project’ in Eritrea with a US$17.28m grants.

The project is expected to cover a total agricultural area of 1.2 million hectares (ha) in 34 sub-zobas (regions) that spread across the country’s six zobas and three agro-ecological zones.

Over the six-year implementation period of the project, the US$17.28m IFAD Debt Sustainability Framework (DSF) grant will cover 65% of the project cost. Continue reading IFAD Supports US$26.38m Eritrea National Agriculture Project

After continuing its drive towards a highly successful mining boom, Eritrea is re-adjusting itself for another ambitious, all round ‘construction boom’ that comes in line with the commencement of the magnificent Gedem Cement factory together with a number of iron and steel plants in the country.
