An important agreement was signed on Monday between the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) and the Eritrean Government in key Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

A series of training exchanges and training camps are planned aimed not only at identifying a common path of growth and collaboration for all the figures involved in the project, from the coaches to the physiotherapists, but also to prepare the athletes in the best possible way for the upcoming Summer Olympics. Eritrean Born Italian Runner Wins Venice Marathon – Unexpectedly

Runners take wrong turn and as a result there is an unexpected winner, the Eritrean born Italian Eyob Faniel.

Until someone put the blame on the Russians, Eyob Faniel is now the first Italian man to win the Venice Marathon in 22 years.

It’s fair to say things were not supposed to go this way at the Venice Marathon. It would’ve been little surprise if Kenya’s Gilbert Kipleting Chumba had won the race Sunday — or maybe it could have been his countryman David Kiprono Metto. Petro Mamu tested positive for a banned asthma medication at two world championships this summer, and his title has been revoked. He was slapped with a nine-month ban starting on 19 September 2017 after admitting to the findings and co-operating with the IAAF.

Zersenay Joins Elite World Half Marathon Field

Half Marathon record holder Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea has joined Britain’s Mo Farah and Kenya’s reigning champion Geoffrey Kamworor in an elite field for the world championships in Cardiff on March 26.

Half Marathon record holder Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea has joined Britain’s Mo Farah and Kenya’s reigning champion Geoffrey Kamworor in an elite field for the world championships in Cardiff on March 26.

2015: The Year Anti-Eritrea Forces Go Bankrupt

As 2015 comes to an end, let’s look back at the dynamic year that it was for Eritrea. Among other things, 2015 will be remembered as the year that saw anti-Eritrea forces go bankrupt.

The year was dominated by significant sports achievements by Eritrean athletes. Eritrean cyclists made history at the Criterium du Dauphine and Tour de France where they conquered the French Alps and made history by being the first Africans to ever compete in Le Tour, the most prestigious of the Grand Tours of cycling. Ethiopia’s Legese 1st, Eritrea’s Tadese 3rd at Delhi Half Marathon

Ethiopia’s Birhanu Legese won the 2015 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon today (29) after clocking 59:20 minutes while his compatriot Mosinet Geremew, who was third in 2014, finished a second later. Eritrea’s Zersenay Tadese, the world record holder in half marathon, finished third in 59:24 minutes.
