Eritrean National Champion Meron Abraham to Join Bike Aid

The 22-year-old Eritrean Meron Abraham will join the German team from 2018 season as a promising, perspective sprint talent. Abraham is current national champion of his country Eritrea.

He surprised many people during the summer when he was beating the “World Tour” guys of Dimension Data with Merhawi Kudus, Mekseb Debesay or Natnael Berhane and won the national champion jersey at the end of the day with his victory at the Eritrean national championships. Pro Cycling Team BIKE AID Sign Eritrean Awet Habtom

We are happy to announce the signing of the Eritrean top-talent Awet Habtom with team BIKE AID.

Awet Habtom finished 7th at last year’s ITT World Championships (Junior) in Doha and will be racing with BIKE AID from now.

He is probably one of the most talented riders in Africa. Awet Habtom convinced with his 7th place in last year’s Junior World Champs in Doha and also with 3rd place in this year’s African continental Champs ITT in Egypt, where he finished just 47 seconds behind Meron Teshome. “I Want to Show My Talent“ – Eritrean Amanuel Mengis Takes on His 2nd Season With BIKE AID

Amanuel Mengis is the second rider from Eritrea in the roster of team BIKE AID, next to Meron Teshome. After his first season in Europe, the young and talented rider from the horn of Africa is extremely motivated to show his talent.

Already in the past season 2016 Amanuel Mengis worn the BIKE AID jersey and could gain some first experiences riding in Europe. But first the talented climber had to get used to all the environment in Europe and then problems with authorities to get the suitable visa made 2016 a bit difficult for him. But for 2017 “Emma” has set himself high goals and tells us a little more how he want to achieve them.

Meron Teshome Takes Farewell Win at Satellite Classis

All African Games gold medallist Meron Teshome said farewell to his MTN-Qhubeka teammates in fine style when he raced to victory the 106km road race today. Meron will be moving to Germany as he signed with UCI Continental team “Bike Aid” for the 2016 season.

The Eritrean, who triumphed in the individual time-trial at last month’s continental tournament, sprinted to the classic win on the Hartbeeshoek road in a time of 2:27:27.

The finish line was awash with the feeder team’s familiar black-and-white kit as Teshome’s teammates stormed in on his wheel to complete their dominating performance in the 106km road race.

Jayde Julius and Metkel Eyob took second and third respectively, with Tesfom Okubamariam, Stefan de Bod and Gustav Basson continuing the clean sweep of the top six in a shared time of 2:27:28. Continue reading Meron Teshome Takes Farewell Win at Satellite Classis

Mekseb Debesai Named Most Popular Rider of Bayern Rundfahrt

He was also Africa’s Best Cyclist for 2014

ERITREAN rider Mekseb Debesai (Bike Aid) was named most beautiful rider of the Bayern Rundfahrt in Germany- the only cycling tour with such an award.

Votes were casted via total “likes” on pictures of riders on the Bayern Rundfahrt Facebook page.
