Sudan to Supply Power and Fuel to Eritrea

Enhanced bilateral cooperation and regional issues are on the agenda

Citing a Sudanese Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SUNA reported on Friday that Sudan agreed to supply neighbouring Eritrea with electricity and fuel.

State Minister Mohammed Obeid Allah reportedly said a joint meeting between President Al-Bashir and his visiting counterpart President Afwerki discussed and agreed on on a number of joint economic and security projects particularly on  linking Eritrea with electricity supply besides the possibility of providing Eritrea with fuel.

Sudan Issued a Ministerial Decree to Resume Cross Border Trade with Eritrea

Taking the Steps needed to promote trade and bilateral cooperation between Eritrea and Sudan

FOLLOWING the November agreement that was reached between President Omer Al Bashir and President Isaias Afwerki at the Red Sea State of Port Sudan, the Sudanese Minister of Trade, Mr. Osman Omer Al Sharif today issued a Ministerial decision on the resumption of all cross-border trades with Eritrea, and directed all competent authorities to implement the decision effective immediately.

Minister Al Sharif said the ministerial decision comes on the basis of provisions of article (73) of the interim constitution of the Sudan for 2005 and the powers of the Minister of Trade by virtue of the republican decree no. 45 for 2013, trade organization Act 2009 and the presidential decree No. 4 for 2014 on resumption of border trade between Sudan and Eritrea.  Continue reading Sudan Issued a Ministerial Decree to Resume Cross Border Trade with Eritrea
