Venezuela to Chair Somalia-Eritrea Sanction Committee

When winds of change blowing. Ambassador Samuel Moncada of Venezuela is the new Chair person of the Somalia-Eritrea sanction Committee.

H.E. Mr. Samuel Moncada the Permanent Representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations is elected to Chair the United Nations Security Council’s Sanction Committee for Somalia and Eritrea.

Mr Mocada replaces South Korea’s Permanent Representative, Oh Joon, whose mandate ended on 31 December 2014. Mr Mocada’s mandate is for the period ending 31 December 2015. Concurrently Chad and Jordan were appointed as the two Vice-Chairs.

Eritrea Decries Seleka Rebels Link Story

Moon of the South“, an obscure weekly magazine, published excerpts of an interview with Francois Bozize, the deposed President of the Central African Republic in its April 4 edition this month. The reporter, a certain Issa Sikiti Da Silva, quotes the former CAR President who stated that “Chad helped Seleka rebels to overthrow” his government.

But then, the reporter gratuitously impugns Eritrea to claim that “the arms used by the Seleka rebels during the final assault on the presidential palace were purchased from Eritrea and transited by Chad with the permission of Deby”. Continue reading Eritrea Decries Seleka Rebels Link Story

Eritrea is the most peaceful country in Africa and one of the safest nations in the world. As a result of that, its nine ethnic people live in a perfect harmony. It is hard to find a crime or violence in Eritrea on a daily basis as it is very common event is in the rest of the continent.

Eritrea, which is the newest nation of Africa, is engaged in a national development campaign to eradicate poverty once of all and to achieve also a major economic success. Eritrea is doing well in order to ensure a social justice of its people. African Union Turned into Handmaiden for Pax Americana

The aftermath of AU’s betrayal to Africa, particularly to Eritrea and Somalia is there for all to see.

Professor Ali A. Mazrui, Director of the Institute of Global Cultural  Studies and Albert Schweitzer Professor in the Humanities State  University of New York, in his 2003 article “Between Pax Americana and Pax Africana“, wrote about the effects of the September 11 attacks on Africa and US policy in Africa . Professor Mazrui, in concluding his article asked the following:

“…will American resources help to strengthen Pax Africana, or will American power simply turn it into a handmaiden of Pax Americana ? How can we avoid the Americanization of Pax Africana ?…”
