‘Obama’s War’ in South Sudan

The experiment of South Sudanese independence is failing
Despite supporting South Sudan’s independence with diplomatic muscle and military aid, the United States has been unable to gain a foothold in the country’s oil sector but China does. The experiment of South Sudanese independence is failing. Now, Who is to blame for the crisis?

By Thomas C Mountain,

THE genocidal war being waged in South Sudan today is “Obama’s War”. Why? Because the Obama regime is paying for it.

Thanks to Wikileaks we know that the CIA began paying the salaries of what is today the South Sudanese “rebel army” led by Reik Machar in 2009. And the CIA is still paying them today. We know this because there is simply no other source of funding for these brigands that anyone anywhere has been able to establish (a question, by the way, that the western media has completely failed to raise). Journalism as a Disguised Spy Profession

Spies Disguise as Journalists or Journalists as Spies? As CIA continues deployment of its gents as journalists, how many of these ‘useful idiots’ we Eritreans have among us?

By Bruh Tesfa,

AS I was driving home from shopping one afternoon I decided to turn the radio on to keep abreast on the latest news. It was one of those radio talk shows that broadcast news hourly and present sociopolitical commentaries in between 7/24/365. The topic of the discussion was….you guessed it right, Sony’s controversial movie “The Interview” and North Korea.

The content of the movie, which had to be cancelled in many theaters across the US due to imminent threat of retaliation, was supposedly about assassination plot against North Korea’s leader who was portrayed in demeaning ways.

The Host of the show, Monica Perez, a self-confessed libertarian, had this to say about the whole drama before opening the phone line for discussion. Continue reading Journalism as a Disguised Spy Profession

Obama’s Quiet Consigliere: Gayle who?

Gayle Smith who served in the Clinton Administration with Susan Rice is today serving as a special assistant to President Obama and Senior Director for Development and Democracy at the U.S. National Security Council. She was one of dictator Meles Zenawi’s “skirted friends” and his booster. She was also a Confidante of the TPLF Tigrean leadership, according to Peter Rosenblum (2002), and that she spent “the decade of the 1980s as the liaison between the CIA and Meles Zenawi”. We can tell who is echoing behind PM Hailemariam Desalegn’s empty regime change rhetoric

By Thomas Mountain,

GAYLE who? Obama’s quiet consigliere Gayle Smith is rarely in the public eye and seems to prefer it that way. At least most of the time, so when she mounted the podium to deliver a eulogy at the funeral for Ethiopia’s late, genocidal strongman Meles Zenawi in Addis Ababa in 2012 I stopped what I was doing and started paying attention.

Obama’s Special Assistant and Senior Director at the National Security Council spoke fondly of her self described 30+ years of friendship with Meles Zenawi going back to their days together in the trenches of the Ethiopian and Eritrean resistance to the Soviet backed Mengistu regime and the great droughts of the early-mid 1980’s.

This consigliere knows what getting down and dirty really means, having served her time literally,“in the trenches” of one of the more nasty independence struggles/civil wars the 20th Century was to endure. Of course in those days she was an “award winning journalist”, at least until the war ended with Eritrean independence and the overthrow of the Mengistu regime in 1991.

A dramatic career change saw her phenomenal rise to become Chief of Staff for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) three years later in 1994.

In just 3 years transforming from “award winning journalist” to Chief of Staff of what has for decades been known as USCIA. As in USAID, recently caught red handed in the scandal in Cuba using anti AIDS programs to try and destabilize Cuban society.

Then in 1998, just in time to see the launch of the next round of Ethiopian invasions of its neighbors, she turns up as the head of African affairs at the National Security Council, then headed by Anthony Lake, today the boss of UNICEF.

Then Gore lost to Bush in the 2000 Presidential election and Gayle who? seamlessly transitioned into civilian life, landing a juicy spot at a neo-liberal NGO next door to power in Washington D.C. She soon launched the “Enough Project” infamous for its fabrications about the conflict in Dafur.

She then took up with a rising star in the Democratic Party, one Barack Obama, endowed at the time with the nickname “Senator Slither” by the late Alexander Cockburn. Gayle Smith brought on board Susan Rice, the god daughter of former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, for whom Gayle who? had become a big sister/mentor to during Ms.

Rice’s rookie days as Under Secretary of State for African Affairs under Bill Clinton in the mid 1990’s. They along with Tony Lake made up the senior triumvant of the foreign policy capos in the 2008 Obama campaign for President.

Today Gayle who? occupies an office close to her Godfather, Barack Obama in the White House, avoiding the sunlight and dispensing very dubious council considering the desperate shape the USA has been finding itself in matters of world affairs. Where she will end up if Queen Hillary is restored to the Presidential throne in 2016 remains to be seen but if history is to be the judge it seems that the heady days of sitting on top of the worlds sole superpower are gone forever.

Though one must never forget that a stricken, cornered beast is at its most dangerous and who knows what new wars will be launched based in part on advice given by Obama’s quiet consigliere, Gayle Smith.

Why Is Glenn Greenwald Protecting the CIA?

Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald’s compelling account of the NSA surveillance on the account of former employee Edward Snowden reveals the threat posed by spying. Who are the CIA agents in our midst?

By Thomas C Mountain,

WHY is Glenn Greenwald protecting the CIA? Edward Snowden made him the primary custodian for the tens of thousands of secret files Snowden downloaded from the NSA database yet only a small fraction of the files have been made public in the past year.

The reason? So Glenn Greenwald et.al can make sure that no one in the US intel community would be compromised?

Every day across the planet the CIA instigates the arrest, torture and murder of people whose only wrongdoing is opposing the crimes being committed by those in league with Pax Americana. Arms trafficking, drug trafficking, human trafficking, all of the most evil activities on this planet are being instigated and directed by the CIA. So why is Glenn Greenwald protecting these bastards?  Continue reading Why Is Glenn Greenwald Protecting the CIA?

Eritrea Opposition Sites Funded and Backed by CIA: Wikileaks

EXPOSED. CIA and Ethiopian Backed Eritrean Opposition Websites

By TesfaNews,

Whistle blower website Wikileaks citing email communications from U.S. intelligence contractor STRATFOR suggests that most of the Eritrean opposition websites are funded and backed by CIA and the Ethiopian government.

The dramatic revelation comes after it published the five million e-mails dated between July 2004 and late December 2011 from the Texas based “Global Intelligence” company Stratfor.

The emails show Stratfor’s web of informers, pay-off structure, payment laundering techniques and psychological methods.  Continue reading Eritrea Opposition Sites Funded and Backed by CIA: Wikileaks

African Union Turned into Handmaiden for Pax Americana

The aftermath of AU’s betrayal to Africa, particularly to Eritrea and Somalia is there for all to see.

By Sophia Tesfamariam,

Professor Ali A. Mazrui, Director of the Institute of Global Cultural  Studies and Albert Schweitzer Professor in the Humanities State  University of New York, in his 2003 article “Between Pax Americana and Pax Africana“, wrote about the effects of the September 11 attacks on Africa and US policy in Africa . Professor Mazrui, in concluding his article asked the following:

“…will American resources help to strengthen Pax Africana, or will American power simply turn it into a handmaiden of Pax Americana ? How can we avoid the Americanization of Pax Africana ?…”

Hence the title and subject for today’s lengthy piece… Continue reading African Union Turned into Handmaiden for Pax Americana
