Field Work Underway on the Asmara Mining Project

The Asmara Project consists of six defined deposits at which four are the subject of a feasibility study completed in May 2013 and are currently in the permitting process

SUNRIDGE GOLD (CVE:SGC) (OTCQX:SGCNF) says it has started field work on its advanced-stage joint venture Asmara project in Eritrea, and remains focused on acquiring a mining license for the property in the first quarter of next year, with sights set on near-term production.

Current exploration work is concentrated on the two “pipeline” deposits on the Asmara project, known as the Kodadu VMS deposit and the Adi Rassi copper-gold deposit. Both areas have inferred resource estimates and remain open for expansion.

Sunridge Gold Corp. (CVE:SGC) has added more good news to an already auspicious month with the completion of a mineral resource estimate for the Kodadu target on the company’s Asmara project in Eritrea, the sixth such mineral resource defined by the Vancouver-based exploration and development company on the property.

Gossan outcrops helped draw Sunridge’s attention to the Kodadu zones

While continuing the Asmara feasibility study in Eritrea, Sunridge Gold TSXV:SGC announced on March 7 a new near-surface discovery at Kodadu, four kilometers east of Asmara’s Debarwa deposit.

With assays complete on 21 reverse-circulation holes, the company now plans an initial resource estimate for the potential deposit.

Sunridge Gold Completes Final Resource Estimate for the Asmara Project, Eritrea

The main advantage for Adi Nefas deposit is its close proximity (6 km) to the 70 million tonne Emba Derho VMS deposit

Sunridge Gold Corp. has now received the final resource estimate update for the Gupo gold deposit, the fourth deposit that forms the basis of the Asmara North Prefeasibility Study.

The Asmara North deposits include the Emba Derho volcanogenic-massive-sulphide (VMS) copper-zinc-gold deposit, the Adi Nefas zinc-gold-copper VMS deposit and the Gupo gold deposit. The Prefeasibility Feasibility study is also considering the possibility of processing ore from the Debarwa copper-zinc-gold VMS deposit at a centralized mill near the Emba Derho deposit (see map below). Sunridge Gold Announces New Higher Grade Resource for the Adi Nefas Deposit

The main advantage for Adi Nefas deposit is its close proximity (6 km) to the 70 million tonne Emba Derho VMS deposit

Sunridge Gold (CVE:SGC) Wednesday announced a new independent resource estimate for the Adi Nefas zinc-gold-copper volcanogenic-massive-sulphide (VMS) deposit at its 100 percent-owned Asmara project in Eritrea.

The company said that indicated resources in the primary zone are 1.8 million tonnes averaging 10.05% zinc, 3.31 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 1.78% copper and 115 g/t silver.
