High-level Eritrean Government Delegation Attends China-Africa Cooperation Forum

An Eritrean delegation led by Mr. Hagos G/Hiwot, attended the Ministerial Forum for China-Africa Cooperation that was held in Beijing from 28-30 July.

A high-level Eritrean government delegation headed by Mr. Hagos Gebrehiwet, Head of PFDJ Economic Affairs, has taken part in the China-Africa Cooperation Forum conducted in Beijing city, from 26 to 30 July.

China and Eritrea have maintained sound and healthy bilateral relations in all areas since establishing diplomatic relations. I still remember the heated atmosphere in Cinema Roma where the artist troupe from Inner Mongolia of China staged two performances of traditional Chinese culture in September 2015, some audience stood through the whole performance because there were no more empty seats.

Such a scene reflects, from one particular perspective, the everlasting friendship, close bond and affinity between the Chinese and Eritrean peoples developed over a long course of cooperation and common development. The relations between China and Eritrea are an important part in China’s relations with African countries. China and Eritrea established diplomatic relations right on the day of May 24, 1993, when the State of Eritrea was founded. Ever since then, despite the vicissitude in international situation, our bilateral relations have been developing smoothly and healthily, with frequent exchange of friendly visits, and deepening of cooperation in all areas. Leaders of our two countries have kept close contacts and communications.

China is Eritrea’s largest trading partner and the two countries have fruitful cooperation in the areas of agriculture, mining, infrastructure construction, culture, education, health and people to people exchanges.
