President Isaias Afwerki today gave a brief interview regarding the much hyped Forto incident that happened on 21st January 2013 at the Ministry of Information building. He said that the incident at Forto involved only a handful of individuals and there is no point to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

In the background of this corporate mainstream media enjoyed reporting on a coup d’etat in Eritrea reporting that dissident soldiers had taken over.

First published out of Qatari-owned Al-Jazeera the story swept the globe to the total amazement of Eritrea as the coup never actually took place.

‘Forto Incident’ No Cause for Apprehension: President Isaias

Government provide necessary info at the appropriate time

President Isaias Afwerki said that the ‘21 January 2013 incident’ was, and is no cause at all, for apprehension and that the Government opted to remain silent regarding the matter so as to give no ground for the authors of sheer lies.
