Natnael Berhane (Europcar) has won the 9th edition of the Tropical Amissa Bongo 2014, becoming the first-ever victory of an African rider competing in the race.

The fast and furious Eritrean Frekalsi Debesay has made ​​today one of the great feats that make the legend of Tropical Amissa Bongo.

Debesay, by winning stage 4 of the 9th La Tropicale Ammissa Bongo, brought his team its first victory of the season.

Mussie Asehel to Coach the African Continental Team for the 2012 Tour of Sharjah

Mussie Ashel of Eritrea will lead the African Continental Team to the Tour of Sharjah 2012 cycling Competition

In the wake of putting the final touches to the 2012 Sharjah Cycling Tour that will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from November 21-24, the African Cycling Confederation (CAC) nominates Mussie Asehel of Eritrea to coach the team that represent the African continent.

Organised under the auspices of the UAE Cycling Federation (UAE CF), the four-day competition is expected to attract 15 teams from all over the world. Natnael Berhane to Train with Team Europcar’s Reserve Squad

Natnael Berhane – Another Eritrean Professional Rider in the making

The Eritrean rider and member of the World Cycling Centre (WCC), Natnael Berhane, will be a trainee for the reserves of Team Europcar cycling squad during the end-of-season period.

This experience at Vendée U-Pays de la Loire, a Vendée based, first national division club in France, constitutes an important step for Natnael Berhane in his quest for a professional contract.

Jani Tewelde upsets Tour of Eritrea Yellow Jersey tradition

MTN-Qhubeka’s promising rider, Jani Tewelde has won the 89km long stage one competition of the Tour of Eritrea at a time of 2:25’42”. He comfortably took the lead in this UCI 2.2 rated race.

The win is also the first Yellow Jersey win for Jani Tewelde and his team. This phenomenon makes him the first foreign team player to win the Yellow Jersey, for the first time, in the history of the Tour of Eritrea.
