This March 8, International Women’s Day is unique for Eritreans, especially for Eritrean women who participated in the national liberation movement and women who have been involved in all spheres of nation-building and in the empowerment of women within the national capacity building framework: our mothers (the core of our society or the mothers of the miracle makers and martyrs),Tegadelti (ex-liberation fighters), Hafash wedbat (members of mass organizations). On Saturday 30th September 2017, the National Union of Eritrea Women (NUEW) Manchester Chapter organized a forum on education, challenges / opportunities, families and youth to residents of the United Kingdom.
A round table discussion on the role of the National Union of Eritrean Women in Diaspora under the theme of ‘Women Ambassadors Forum‘ was organized by the Embassy of the State of Eritrea, held in the city of London. This platform was aimed at providing young Eritrean women professionals the opportunity to engage in a constructive dialogue and to create an effective platform for communication and information sharing.
