TPDM Chairman Mola Asegedom Defected to Sudan

By TesfaNews,

Mola Asghedom, Chairman of the Tigray People’s Democratic Movement (TPDM) and Deputy Chairman of the newly formed coalition movement known as the United Front for the Salvation of Ethiopia through Democracy (ሃገር ኣድን ንቅናቄ) have reportedly escaped to Sudan through the border town of Hamdait with a handful of soldiers.

However, ESAT reports indicates that Mola Asghedom in fact defected to Ethiopia. The reason for his escape / defection is not yet known. According to ESAT sources, though, it could be resulted from major differences and disagreements that started to evolve in the process of forming the coalition with Arbegnoch Ginbot 7 for Unity and Democratic Movement (AGUDM), Afar People’s Liberation Movement (APLM), and the Amhara Democratic Force Movement (ADFM). Once Again the TPLF Hoodlums Are Banging the Drums of War Against Eritrea

War is like a double-edged sword. The last war Ethiopian rulers unleashed against Eritrea claimed 19,000 Eritreans and more than 120,000 non-Tigrayan Ethiopian lives with thousands more maimed. The point is, if it took more than three years and hundreds of thousands Ethiopian lives just to control the small town of Badme, the regime in Ethiopia must have been ready to pay the ultimate price of more than a million souls and probably 20 more years in order to successfully occupy Eritrea and unseat the current government. The 2006 Somalia adventure taught Ethiopia an unforgettable lesson. Recent threat by Ethiopian PM, therefore, is an empty bravado and a bluff.

By Tsegezab Gebregergis,

ONE of the most disturbing and bizarre political events in the annals of Ethiopian history is the advent of the absolutist rule of the TPLF/EPRDF in Ethiopia in May 1991. It is disturbing because since then Ethiopia has been ruled by a politically paranoid tyrannical minority group that suffers from an acute inferiority complex; a minority group that considers and treats all the legitimately organised, independent and alternative political groups/voices in Ethiopia as enemies who must be humiliated and targeted under various pretexts.  Continue reading Once Again the TPLF Hoodlums Are Banging the Drums of War Against Eritrea
