FROM the General Assembly podium today, Eritrea called for a fundamental overhaul of the United Nation, charging that it has failed in its prime goals of securing world peace and ending poverty due to cynical determination of the dominant Powers to maintain control.

“The United Nations, the organization that ostensibly represents the entire community of nations and the peoples of the world, remains stuck in the past,” Foreign Minister Osman Saleh said on the final day of the Assembly’s annual high-level meeting.

High Level Eritrean Delegation Participated at UN Climate Summit

High level Eritrea delegation participating at the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York

HIGH level Eritrean delegation led by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh is participating at the 69th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

At a speech he gave at the assembly’s annual high-level segment, known as the “General Debate” on the agenda of climate change, FM Osman underlined that the issue of climate change requires global solution and domestic initiative.
