Thousands of Diaspora Eritreans Rally Against COI Report in Geneva

Thousands of Eritreans from across Europe flocked to Geneva to protest against the recent manoeuvre by the Commission of Inquiry (COI) on Human Rights in Eritrea, which is making a false politically motivated accusations and request the referral of Eritrea to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Since early morning the scenery of the quiet city, Geneva, was getting jam-packed with many Eritreans colourfully decorated with Eritrean flags, who arrived in many busses, cars, and planes from all parts of European countries including Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom and some from other parts of the world. A Biased News Coverage on Eritrea and Its Government is Dangerous

Too often, mainstream media narrative on Eritrea has been biased and completely one-sided propaganda of one hue, a yellow and blue one. That is wrong and it must stop.

The UN vs. Eritrea

Does the UN repeating its dark history against the people of Eritrea? In 1952, it was through the then UN Commissioner in Eritrea, Dr. Eduardo Anze Matienzo, and today through another commissioner called Mike Smith.

I SPENT Monday, June 22 in Geneva, Switzerland protesting alongside over 5,000 fellow Eritreans in front of the UN “Commission of Inquiry” offices.

We were there because a UN “Commission of Inquiry” had just issued as nasty a lot of lies about Eritrea as one could imagine. But then none of the three Commission members had ever been to Eritrea and two had even called for “regime change” in the country. That’s right, two out of the three commissioners chosen by the leadership of the UN to “investigate” the human rights situation in the country had already called, though indirectly, for the overthrow of the Eritrean government.  Continue reading The UN vs. Eritrea
