Nevsun Resources Ltd.(TSX:NSU / NYSE Amex:NSU) is pleased to announce strong production results of 87,000 ounces of gold for the quarter ending June 30, 2012 [April-June].

Gold production in the quarter was above expectations due to higher than anticipated grades in portions of the transitional oxide zone. Yesterday the 5-cent “eligible dividend” paying Nevsun Resources Ltd. (TSX/AMEX: NSU) published production results of the first quarter 2012 from its Bisha Mine in Eritrea, East Africa.

Nevsun generates a net, after-tax income of $250 million in 2011 alone
