Eritrea Bags 2016 African Leaders Malaria Alliance Award

Eritrea will be recipient of the 2016 ALMA Awards for Excellence for achieving the Millennium Development Goals target for malaria.

The African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) today presented Eritrea with the 2016 Award for Excellence in recognition of the country’s progress in fighting malaria and meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) target for malaria reduction.

In a meeting organized by the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) that took place on 26th May 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the out-going Chairperson of ALMA, H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia, praised Eritrea and other African countries that have achieved the target of reducing malaria incidence and commended the leaders of those countries for their vision and commitment.
