Eritrea Regrets Security Council Missed Another Opportunity for Regional Peace and Stability

Statement Delivered by Mr. Amanuel Giorgio, Charge D’Affairs Permanent Mission of Eritrea to the United Nations, New York, 10 Nov 2016.

By Eritrea Mission to UN,

I would like to thank you, Mr. President, for giving my delegation the opportunity to address the Council. Allow me also to congratulate Senegal for assuming the Presidency of the Council for the month of November.

Mr. President,

Excellencies,

The UN Security Council has once again committed grave injustice against the people of Eritrea by extending the unjustified sanction.

There is no reason to maintain sanction against Eritrea, as the justification for its imposition has long been proven nonexistent, a fact that has been asserted by the Somalia Eritrea Monitoring Group. In four of its reports, including during its present mandate the Somalia Eritrea Monitoring Group, has affirmed that “there is no evidence of Eritrean support to Al-Shabab in Somalia.” Continue reading Eritrea Regrets Security Council Missed Another Opportunity for Regional Peace and Stability

Eritrea Objects UN Monitoring Group’s Obsession with its Air Force

SEMG still obsessed with its agenda behind the state of the Eritrean Air Force and its various military facilities. But Why? Who pays the Piper?

By Eritrean Mission,

The Permanent Mission of Eritrea to the UN is aware that the Somalia-Eritrea Monitoring Group (SEMG) has submitted its February monthly report to the Sanctions Committee sometime early this month.

In spite of our repeated requests to receive, in time, a copy of the report, we have not yet formally obtained the document. This awkward state of affairs has no plausible explanation or logic. Continue reading Eritrea Objects UN Monitoring Group’s Obsession with its Air Force

Eritrea Dismisses US Sanctions on Shabaab-linked Suspects

US froze US-based assets of Col. Tewolde Habte Negash and Col. Taeme Abraham Goitom?!?!? … LOL

By Capital FM,

Eritrea on Saturday denounced as unfounded US sanctions imposed on two Eritrean government officials accused of links to al-Qaeda affiliated Somali rebels.

They had been targeted “not because there is a shred of truth or material evidence to the false accusations heaped upon them” but because the US wanted to give the impression it was tightening its sanctions, said a statement.  Continue reading Eritrea Dismisses US Sanctions on Shabaab-linked Suspects

The tale of “Eritrean Weapons Caught in the Hands of Terrorists”

Another reason to reject the integrity and impartiality of the UN Monitoring report

By Shabait,

One of the many baseless and false accusations fabricated to accuse Eritrea was that “weapons originating from Eritrea were found in with Somali warlords.” And the serial numbers of the weapons supposedly found in the hands of the warlords were presented to the monitoring group as evidence. “We have asked and confirmed that Russia previously sold the weapons to Eritrea,” the group had said.

At first, any naive party could be convinced by these facts. Even the Russians were forced to refer back to their documents, and, obviously, verified that the serial numbers in fact corresponded with their records. Continue reading The tale of “Eritrean Weapons Caught in the Hands of Terrorists”

The Two Wiki Files that Froze the Zenawi Regime’s Spine

Zenawi's contempt for Ethiopian lives and his deceptive nature exposed in Wiki files

By TesfaNews,

Here we go again, on another eye boggling denials by the shameless minority Ethiopian regime after embarrassed by a series of revelation from a secret US Embassy cables released by the whistle blower website Wikileaks.

Yesterday, they issued a frantic ‘press statement’ with the usual denials and full of amature diplomatic languages concerning ‘two issues‘ raised on the Ethiopia Wikileaks files.

The first issue that hits the nerve of the Addis Ababa junta was the release of the file that exposes the pattern and behavior of the Ethiopian security forces on how they plant bombs in the city then later blame on the opposition and neighboring Eritrea.
