Danakali Appoints Aggreko as Power Contractor at Colluli

Aggreko is a Glasgow-based company that currently provides the Bisha mine in Eritrea with a solar-diesel hybrid power supply (22MW of diesel and 7.5MW of solar).

Danakali has appointed Aggreko to supply, commission and maintain the proposed Colluli power plant for five years.

Colluli is the largest and shallowest known evaporite deposit in the world with a solid form ore reserve estimate of over 1.1bn tonnes.

Australian Company Seeks Potash Mining Licence in Eritrea

The Company has got enough demand already as buyers signed memorandums of understanding for offtake agreements of more than 800,000 tonnes of sulphate of potash (SOP).

Australia mining group Danakali Ltd has applied to Eritrea for a mining licence for its Colluli Potash Project, which is expected to start production in 2019, the company’s chief executive said.

Eritrea, which became independent from Ethiopia in 1991 after years of fighting, wants to establish a mining industry to help to bolster its economy.

Finally, Danakali Ltd submits mining application for Colluli Potash Project in Eritrea

Danakali Ltd (ASX:DNK) has formally submitted its mining license application for the Colluli Potash Project in the east African country of Eritrea.

The application was prepared and submitted following the recent completion of the pre-requisite work.
