An article by Dr. Nicolas Beger, Director of Amnesty International’s (AI), European Institutions Office, entitled “from hell to hell: Eritreans at home and abroad” appeared on New Europe, 5-11 May 2013 publication, made a desperate attempt to sully the image of Eritrea  and vilify the vigorous preparations of the Eritrean people, inside and abroad, for the euphoric celebration of the 22nd year of independence.

It has been a while since the international community has been assaulted by the criminal entity Amnesty International (AI) using human rights as excuse to demonize nations and leaders of specific nations targeted for destabilization in pursuit of US and Western hegemony. Eritrea rejects in the clearest of terms Amnesty International’s wild accusations  that  it has “jailed at least 10,000  political prisoners.”

Amnesty’s    transparently    political     assault    on    Eritrea     is    totally unsubstantiated, with  the  organization unable  to  back  its  claims  with facts.  It is hardly  surprising that  it admits  that  it does not  “know  the exact figure.”

Amnesty claims that the prisoners  are kept in “unimaginably atrocious conditions.” Once again  this  merely  reflects  its  own  fanciful  flights  of imagination and is not based on credible  evidence.  Continue reading Eritrea Rejects Amnesty International’s Wild Accusations
