Qatar Airways to Suspend Flights to Asmara

… due to “Operational requirements”…

Qatar Airways, one of the main airlines serving Eritrea, announced today that it will be suspending its service flights between Doha and Asmara starting from 4 December 2016 due to what it called “operational requirements”.

Qatar Airways Boosts Flights to Eritrea

Due to popularity and enhanced connectivity, the Doha – Asmara route shows a 25% increase in capacity. For that, Qatar Airways planed to boost scheduled flight to Eritrea five time a week as of Sep 7th, 2015.

Qatar Airways is continuing its rapid growth across Africa with an increase in flight frequencies to Asmara, Eritrea.

THE Minister of Transport of Qatar, HH Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, held talks with the Director General of the Eritrean Civil Aviation Authority Mr. Paulos Kahsai in Doha on Tuesday (13).

QATAR Airways has continued its expansion into Africa with the launch of services to its twelfth new destination this year, the Eritrean capital Asmara.

Qatar Airways Starts Regular Direct Flights to Asmara

Qatar Airways commence twice-weekly scheduled flight to and from Asmara today

Today, Qatar Airways starts its maiden Doha-Asmara regular scheduled flights and the plane is expected to touch down Asmara International Airport tarmac at 2130.

The twice-weekly flights will be served by an Airbus A320 featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy.
