Ghirmay Ghebreslassie Returns to Defend New York Marathon Crown

The youngest Champion in history of Marathon is returning to defend his NYC Marathon title.

Last year’s champion, Ghirmay Ghebreslassie of Eritrea, returns to defend his title. If he wins, he takes home $100,000 prize money.

After his first marathon victory at the Beijing world championships in 2015, Eritrea’s Ghirmay Ghebreslassie mused on the fact that his family had objected to his taking up running.

USCIS Honors Olympian Meb Keflezighi as ‘Outstanding American by Choice’

Since 2006, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has awarded 130 naturalized citizens from more than 50 countries with the honor. Now, it’s Meb’s turn.

Olympic medalist and marathon legend Meb Keflezighi was recognized by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with the “Outstanding American by Choice” award in San Diego on May 10.

Olympian and marathon icon Meb Keflezighi has won many titles but on Wednesday, he was awarded an honor very close to his heart: “Outstanding American by Choice.”

At a naturalization ceremony for 50 new U.S. citizens at Gompers Preparatory Academy in San Diego, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will recognize Keflezighi with the award, which recognizes the achievements of naturalized U.S. citizens. Ali Kaya of Turkey cruised to dominating victory at the third edition of the Vodafone Istanbul Half Marathon, an IAAF Bronze Label Road Race, on Sunday (24).

Zersenay Joins Elite World Half Marathon Field

Half Marathon record holder Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea has joined Britain’s Mo Farah and Kenya’s reigning champion Geoffrey Kamworor in an elite field for the world championships in Cardiff on March 26.

Half Marathon record holder Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea has joined Britain’s Mo Farah and Kenya’s reigning champion Geoffrey Kamworor in an elite field for the world championships in Cardiff on March 26.

Ethiopia’s Legese 1st, Eritrea’s Tadese 3rd at Delhi Half Marathon

Ethiopia’s Birhanu Legese won the 2015 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon today (29) after clocking 59:20 minutes while his compatriot Mosinet Geremew, who was third in 2014, finished a second later. Eritrea’s Zersenay Tadese, the world record holder in half marathon, finished third in 59:24 minutes.
