Rural Electrification. The company announced the completion and commissioning of a 1.25 MWp and 1 MWp grid-quality solar power to 40,000 rural communities of Areza and Maidma in Eritrea.

Solarcentury has been selected to design and build two solar powered mini-grids using solar PV and lithium batteries to power the communities of Areza and Maidma in Eritrea, East Africa.

The €5.7million contract will showcase the use of solar hybrid power systems to provide grid quality power to 40,000 people and businesses remote from the grid and presents a model for rural electrification across Africa. Solarcentury Wins the Areza – Maidma Solar PV Generation Project

Solarcentury (UK) Ltd. has been awarded a €5.7m Solar PV Generation Systems project in Eritrea.

The Delegation of the European Union to the State of Eritrea today announced the award of a multi-million euro Solar energy project in Eritrea to Solarcentury (UK) Ltd.

Subsequently, a contract has been signed between the Eritrean Ministry of Energy and Mines (MoEM) and Solarcentury (UK) Ltd on January 20th in Asmara for the supply, installation and commissioning of Solar PV Generation Systems.
