From Dimension Data to Astana. Eritrea’s 2018 National Cycling Champion, Merhawi Kudus, signs for Astana until the end of 2019.

The Eritrean rider Merhawi Kudus will leave the South African Team Dimension Data at the end of 2018 to race for the Kazakh Pro team of Astana.
He already signed a one-year contract to join Astana Pro Team in the upcoming season of 2019.

He makes history by being the first ever Eritrean to finish in the top 10 on GC at a World Tour race, by placing 10th at the 2017 Tour of Gaungxi.
Congratulation. Another history has been made by an Eritrean rider at the 2017 Tour of Guangxi.
Mekseb Debesay, from Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka has become the first Eritrean to finish top 10 GC at a World Tour event.
The final stage of the Tour of Gaungxi ended in another mass sprint and, once again, it was Fernando Gaviria (Quickstep-Floors) who took the victory. Niccolo Bonifazio placed second and Dylan Groenewegen was third. The big bunch sprint meant Tim Wellens had no trouble in defending the overall race lead, to be crowned the 2017 Tour of Gaungxi champion.

Eritrean rider closes out his time with Dimension Data in final race of the season at Tour of Guangxi

Daniel Teklehaimanot, the first Eritrean to race the Tour de France, will bring down the curtain on his Dimension Data career when the Tour of Guangxi concludes Wednesday.
“It is my last race with the team. I am looking for other teams. It is October now. It is difficult to organise the situation,” Teklehaimanot told Cyclingnews ahead of stage 3 of the Tour of Guangxi.

This puts the African Team Dimension Data down to just 5 riders, after Nic Dougall (stage 6), Youcef Reguigui (stage 5) and Ben King (stage 3) fell ill.
According to his team, Merhawi got no broken bones, but sustained numerous deep cuts and bruising. Cuts to knee and face were most serious. The team assured fans Mera will be okay.

Huge and historic. An incredible and courageous ride by our 23-year-old Eritrean rider Merhawi Kudus saw him finish 2nd place on the fifth stage of Vuelta a Espana.

Alexey Lutsenko (Team Astana) won stage 5 of the Vuelta a Espana while our young Eritrean, Merhawi Kudus put in an incredible ride to place 2nd on the stage. The first stage of the Tour of Romandie today rewarded Natnael Berhane of Team Dimension Data by a fine 4th place finish, ahead of five time Tour de France winner Chris Froome.

Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka was a real protagonist during the first stage of the Tour of Romandie today with our efforts rewarded by a fine 4th place finish for Natnael Berhane.
Michael Albasini (Orica-Scott) was the stage victor, 2nd went to Diego Ulissi (UAE Emirates) and Jesus Herrada (Movistar) placed 3rd.
