Team Eritrea Name Strong Line-up for African Continental Road Championships 

The Eritrean national cycling team is heading to Rwanda for the 2018 African Continental Road Championships. No other national team on the continent has so far managed to upset their absolute seven consecutive years dominance.

Shannon-Ogbani Abeda will soon don a ski suit hued with the vibrant colours of the Eritrean flag as the country makes its Winter Olympic debut this February.

Eritrea’s quest for 2017 Tour du Rwanda edition will be led by Tesfom Okubamariam

Eritrean riders are ready for a grueling Tour du Rwanda with a strong team line up that consists of Tesfom Okubamariam, Simon Mussie, Natnael Mebrahetu, Amanuel Tsegai and Aron Debretsion.

Four foreign international teams have confirmed their riders who will battle for honours at the 9th edition of Tour du Rwanda expected to start on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Amahoro Stadium.

Powerhouse Eritrea Eyeing Overall Victory at Tour of Rwanda

The Eritrean cycling team arrived in Kigali to participate at the 7th edition of the Tour of Rwanda where a total of 85 riders from a record 17 teams are expected to compete. The event will run from November 15 – 22.

In this 2.2 UCI racing event, six professional teams have also confirmed their participation including four European-based teams such as Bike Aid (Germany), Team Loup Sport (Switzerland), Global cycling team (Netherlands) and Haute-Savoie Rhone-Alpes (France).  Continue reading Powerhouse Eritrea Eyeing Overall Victory at Tour of Rwanda

In 1996 the Eritrean soccer federation officially was founded even though Eritrea had been playing in games against other nations since 1992. Like everything else in Eritrea the development of a world popular sport once hailed as Eritrea’s national past time seems to have seen its ups and downs over the past 24 years. While the long tradition of the game dating back since the early part of the 1900’s has seen some incredible results like the 1962 African nations cup where 9 Eritrean players helped Ethiopia win the cup of nations, this article will focus more on the recent history of the team. Team Eritrea Sweeps 2 Time Trial Golds and 1 Silver at All African Games

Brazzaville 2015: Team Eritrea stormed ITT with 2 Golds and 1 silver today.

With almost sheer vengeance, Team Eritrea has shown great character today to bounce back from the unfortunate disaster that had denied them gold medals in the Team Time Trial (TTT) yesterday, to run way this time with two Gold and a silver medals in the Individual Time Trial (ITT).

In the Women’s ITT, heroines Mosana Debesay and Wehazzit Kidane had a dominant performance running away with Gold and Silver medals respectively. With only two starters for the ITT teams, our beautiful girls couldn’t have done better with a first and second finish. For the 5th time in a row, the Eritrean National Team wins African Continental Cycling Championships – TTT

THE Eritrean national cycling team that are participating at the 2015 African Continental Cycling Championship in South Africa have won their first Gold medal after coming on top in the 48km Team Time Trial (TTT) for 5th year in a row.

The Eritrean Elite Men’s team that consists of Daniel Teklehaimanot, Merhawi Kudus, Natnael Berhane (all from team MTN-Qhubeka) and Mekseb Debesay (team Bike Aid) produced the strongest ride in the category to beat the more fancied South African team of four, who are also from team MTN-Qhubeka, to the title.
