The Final Hours of Ethiopia’s TPLF Regime

“There is no such thing as a cakewalk in war, but if there ever was one, the capture of Mekelle would be it.”

Gone with the wind. When gazed upon, the TPLF appears awesome, formidable, and infinitely powerful. It has guns, tanks, rockets, planes, and bombs. Though the TPLF has legs of iron, its feet are made of clay. This beast with feet of clay, in the end, was run down! (Courtesy of Prof. AL Mariam)

BY THOMAS C MOUNTAIN

With their army destroyed and their last, best troops wiped out in one morning on the outskirts of their regional capital Mekele, the last remnants of the leadership of Ethiopia’s TPLF regime were forced to retreat to the secret Hagarasalam underground bunkers. Ethiopia: Final Days of the TPLF Regime

The TPLF is in chaos, their tyranny is coming to an end

No matter how many people are killed, falsely imprisoned and beaten, the movement for lasting democratic change in Ethiopia will not be put down.

BY GRAHAM PEEBLES

Under relentless popular pressure the Ethiopian Prime-Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, has been forced to resign, other members of the government are expected to follow. The ruling party responded with panic, and instead of entering into talks with opposition groups, imposed another State of Emergency – this follows on from the previous one, which last ten months (from October 2016), and achieved nothing. Ethiopia: The Unmaking of the Minority TPLF Regime

The TPLF has many options to save itself and the country. But it will not take any of them because it still believes it can maintain the killing using crushing force and dividing Amharas and Oromos, Tigreans and all the rest. Well, considering the untenable foundation the regime finds itself on, change is unavoidable. The real question is how quick.

By Tecle Abraham Habtemicael,

Ethiopia is experiencing a huge upheaval never seen during the 25 year of the minority TPLF regime`s brutal reign. The political revolt is coming in the midst of worsening economic, political and social problems that are making the live of the average citizens unbearable.

The people have had enough and are demanding a fundamental change, not short of the removal of the regime. In a normally constituted democratic government, such an upheaval would have lead yielding to the demand of the people or even resignation. But the ruling government is rather strangely constituted in such a way to maximize its minority ethnic domination and thus the demands being a menace to its reign, the possibility of political resolution is not foreseen. Ethiopia: The Condemned Minority TPLF Regime Picked its Own Poison

Minority TPLF regime’s internal and external pressure cooker: Popular uprisings from inside and a pending military punishment from outside. Hard to tell which one will be delivering the final blow – soon!

By Yohannes Kifle,

After the June 12th military catastrophe against Eritrea, the condemned minority ruling party in Ethiopia was persuaded that the decision to attack or invade Eritrea will only hasten its demise. One must not think that this is a revelation to the regime.

However, the self-induced pressure resulting from endless bragging about unseating the government of Eritrea forced the regime to test the water. The result, as the condemned minority regime found out, was deadly. Continue reading Ethiopia: The Condemned Minority TPLF Regime Picked its Own Poison

Highlights of Lt. Gen. Tsadkan’s Watershed Article on Ethiopia Political Crisis

Undertake fundamental political change! Lt. Gen. Tsadkan Gebre Tensay, former Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian Armed Forces, advising the minority TPLF-led regime to spare the country from implosion and turmoil.

By Publius Aethiopicus,

Lt. General Tsadkan Gebre Tensay, former Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian Armed Forces has written a bold article in Amharic calling for the regime to undertake fundamental political changes to spare the country from implosion and turmoil.

There is no question today that Ethiopia under the Tigray People’s Liberation Front/Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front-TPLF/EPRDF regime has come to a cross roads, in fact a dead end. Either a change of course towards a genuine constitutional democracy or a nightmarish scenario of the implosion of Ethiopia are the alternatives, as Lt. General Tsadkan Gebre Tensay asserts. An Ethiopian and Susan Rice Semiannual Ritual at the UN Security Council

This May 2009, six hours long private meeting between Zenawi and Rice was the genesis of their ill-gotten, evil agenda of sanctioning Eritrea hatched.

By Bereket Tecle,

Once again this July, the chairman of the so-called U.N. Somalia Eritrea Monitoring group (Matt Bryden), US Ambassador to the UN (Susan Rice) and PM of the genocidal minority regime in Ethiopia (Meles Zenawi) have begun what they have been doing for a while; a joint semiannual ritual at the UNSC.

The goal is to undermine, ridicule and despoil every Eritrean institution, its people and its leadership. It has been obvious when it comes to Eritrea and the Eritrean people, no road is too low or no lie is too bold for the TPLF-run regime in Ethiopia.
