Qatar Airways commence twice-weekly scheduled flight to and from Asmara today
, Qatar Airways starts its maiden Doha-Asmara regular scheduled flights and the plane is expected to touch down Asmara International Airport tarmac at 2130. Today
The twice-weekly flights will be served by an Airbus A320 featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy.
The start of regular Doha-Asmara route by Qatar airways will definitely enhance connectivity and competitive quality service.

Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways has found a new country to serve – Eritrea. On 19 August the Star Alliance carrier Turkish Airlines began thrice-weekly flights from its Istanbul Atatürk (IST) hub to Asmara (ASM). Qatar Airways would be adding Asmara to its route network with twice-weekly direct services from Doha starting in December.
WITH the arrival last week of Turkish Airlines services from Istanbul, Asmara International Airport, serving the capital of Eritrea, has arrived on the global aviation scene.
It was also confirmed recently that Qatar Airways would be adding Asmara to its route network with twice-weekly direct services from Doha starting in December.
Located across the Red Sea from Saud Arabia and with Sudan, Ethiopia and Djibouti as neighbours, Eritrea has been under the influence of Italy and the UK during the last 100 years.

Turkish Airlines set to start scheduled flights to Asmara starting Aug 19th
ACCORDING to information published on (AR) website , Turkish Airlines will start its maiden flight to Asmara on the AirlineRoute 19 th of August 2014.
Citing flight schedule data loaded in the airline GDS system, AR confirms that flight
TK578 will operate three times weekly from using the next-generation Boeing 737 – 800 aircraft. Istanbul Ataturk – Taif – Asmara
The Airline does not have traffic rights yet to carry local traffic between Taif and Asmara sector.

Qatar Airways planned flight to Eritrea may not start before July?

Qatar Airways today announced a further expansion of its route network in Africa with flights to Djibouti starting in July.
Thrice-weekly non-stop flights will operate from Doha to Djibouti beginning from July 27, the carrier said in a statement.
The announcement comes as Qatar Airways prepares for a busy few months ahead with the launch of scheduled flights to Philadelphia and Larnaca in April; Edinburgh and Istanbul Sabiha in May; Miami and Tokyo Haneda in June and Dallas/Fort Worth in July.

Turkey and Eritrea today signed the first-time bilateral Civil Aviation Agreement in Asmara.
Earlier today, Turkish envoy to Eritrea, Ambassador Firat Sunel, disclosed that he had a historic meeting with a team of Eritrean Civil Aviation Authorities (ECAA) to negotiate on the terms of the aviation agreement.
The deal will finally pave the way for the world’s most notable airline, Turkish Airline, to kick start its scheduled flights to and from Asmara.
