Swiss Government pledges US $2.1m towards Eritrean youth skills development, employment and migration project
The project aims to reduce unsafe migration by creating opportunities for young people to pursue their aspirations in the country and by enhancing the Government’s capacity to govern migration to promote safe, regular, and orderly migration opportunities.
Switzerland has signed an agreement with UNDP pledging US$ 2,112,000 (two million, one hundred and twelve thousand US dollars) to support Eritrea youth in skills development.

Eritrea High school students received 114 bicycles from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

Bye Bye Kerosene!
All the 368 homes, including the primary school in Ajerbeb village have been fitted with solar panels and are now beneficiaries of 24/7 electric lights for the first time.
Residents of Ajerbeb, a remote village in Hamelamalo sub-zoba, welcomed the move by the Government, to install solar energy in their homes. At the inauguration ceremony held on 15th November 2017, the residents bid farewell to use of kerosene and adopted to use of clean energy. 50 Years of Development. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has marked its 50th anniversary of its establishment in Habero subzone, Anseba region. It’s programs in Eritrea focuses on environmental protection and capacity building.

The United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) Eritrea, in partnership with Zoba Anseba, the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) and the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment (MoLWE) organized an event to observe UNDP’s 50th Anniversary on 5th and 6th of May 2016, in the Anseba region of Eritrea.
The event highlighted partnerships for development and brought together Government officials, representatives from the diplomatic missions in Eritrea, media, representatives from the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS), Habero community and UN officials.
