Something is developing inside the U.S. Embassy in Asmara. From a “Coming Soon” message last week to “The doors will be opening soon” today. No further explanations given and all these communicated through the Official Facebook page of the Embassy in Asmara. But, which doors are opening this time?
The messages are deliberately short and are, of course, open to different interpretations. However, given the unusual positive messages that are coming out these days through the Chief of Mission Mr. Louis Mazel, most Eritreans are optimistic about this particular message.
The only thing we can say at this time is something that has been a barrier in the relation between Eritrea and the U.S. is about to be removed. It could be anything that is instrumental in building the lost trust between the two countries. Could it be the arrival of new U.S. Ambassador to Eritrea? Why not!
