Eritrean athletes Zersenay Tadese and Hizkel Tewolde today clinched Gold and Bronze medals in the Men’s Half Marathon race in Brazzaville while fellow athelete Samson Gebreyohans finished 4th.

Zersenay ran 1:03:11 to beat Kenyan favorite Luka Kanda.

The legendary Zersenay Tadese currently holds men’s half marathon world record (WR). He is also Eritrea’s first ever Olympic medallist and Eritrea’s first athlete who win at a world championship event.

This is the third Gold medal for Eritrea in this edition of the All African Games after its cyclists bagged two time trial Gold medals last week.
